Nike

itsjordyn33:

Even though I have been a huge Nike lover for years I must say so long and I will no longer buy your product. Michael Vick does not deserve the right to he an endorser for anyone. Yes he is a good football player but what he did to those dogs is completely unforgivable in my book. I especially…

Sorry but I have to disagree here.  Nike is a business and this is a business move.  Lets not forget that Michael Vick was #1 overall in Pro Bowl votes last year at 729,838 votes.  If you are a company that is geared towards athletes, having the most popular athlete in the most popular sport in America endorse your product is a no-brainer.

As far as his charges go, yeah, he was guilty.  He admitted what he did and served his time (2 years in prison compared to, say, Donte Stallworth serving 24 days for vehicular manslaughter while over the legal blood-alcohol limit).  Now he is a staunch advocate for the Humane Society who backs him up 100%.  In fact, it has been widely accepted that Vick’s work for the Humane Society has been some of the most successful efforts they have ever seen by an endorsement.

If the NFL fans, the NFL itself, the Virginia Legal System and the Humane Society can give Michael Vick a second chance, why shouldn’t Nike?
