The Slow Decline

At my work computer, a Dell provided by the Auxiliary Corporation, I have run into a bit of a problem.  You see, as the years went by and technology grew, I was faced with a situation that I can’t seem to remedy.  I am asking for all of your support in this… I use Internet Explorer 6.

IE6 was perfectly fine 2 years ago when I got this computer, but lately, more and more sites are starting to leave IE6 in the dust.  And this being a work computer, I am unable to download any updates.

It started with YouTube.  Downloading the new Flash Player was not an option.  Therefore, watching videos was not an option.

Then it was MySpace videos.  Same issue, not that there is anything original on the myspace videos.

Purevolume.com, my favorite site for listening to music upgraded next and left me weeping.  Oh well I guess, there’s always myspace music.

That left me with two options.  CollegeHumor videos and Myspace Music.  With them, surely I could still survive.  But in the last week, tragedy has struck.  Myspace upgraded their music players and CHTV Originals no longer play without Flash.

I am now left with a site that I rarely, if ever, visit.  Music.aol.com and, more specifically, the Full CD Listening Parties.  Luckily, this week features new albums from Anberlin and Bayside, but who knows what next week will bring.  I may be stuck listening to Kellie Pickler for all I know.

Also, it doesnt look like I will be getting a new computer any time soon as the Auxilary Corporation, which runs our store, is being sued for wrongful termination and will, if history is any reminder, get a large settlement.

Until then, wish me luck with the slow decline.
