Internet Bully
“You’re apparently using Internet Explorer 6, the world’s 8th worst piece of software of all time. This browser is very old, very unsecure, and very unfriendly towards modern web standards. Not only has Microsoft already released a newer—but not much better—version of Internet Explorer, there are are a handful of other, much better, free web browsers available: Safari 3 and Firefox 3.
I should note that I do write IE6-compatible web pages for clients. However, I’d rather educate the less browser-aware users on the web then support their ignorance (I don’t mean to sound demeaning here). The web tastes better with a modern browser.”
That was the message I got when I went to check out lukees.com, which was featured on the “sweet themes” section of the tumblr page. I often go there to see, go figure, sweet themes that others have. I am not very tech savvy and I am impressed at what some of these other tumblogs look like.
This message pops up when you try t view this tumblog. I find it very immature. I guess you could liken it to when you were in middle school and you couldn’t hang out with the cool kids because you didn’t have (insert clothing trend here). It is simply immature and moronic.
Don’t get me wrong. I hate IE6 as much as the next guy. I use Safari at home, but this is my work computer, which I am not authorized to download “modern” browsers.
And the fact that they put “(I dont mean to sound demeaning here)” doesnt make up for the fact that you are demeaning. It’s not in the Geneva convention, Ricky Bobby.
So, in retrospect, go fuck yourself lukees.com.
Guess what, in a matter of months (or weeks) the browser that you love so dearly will be outdated and no longer “modern” so have fun contradicting yourself every time there is an update in technology.
Sincerely,
Bradley Norris
