Go DOGS…not Dawgs.

The Fresno State Bulldogs Baseball team advanced to the finals of the College World Series yesterday in spectacular fashion, beating 2nd ranked North Carolina 6-1.  The Bulldogs have been playing the cinderella card since their regional win against San Diego and don’t plan on stopping now.  They face Georgia in the best-of-3 series that starts tonight.

The Georgia Bulldogs, ranked 8th nationally, will be the 4th ranked team that Fresno gets a chance to eliminate.  Fresno started their incredible run by knocking off 9th ranked San Diego in the Regionals, 3rd ranked Arizona State in the Super Regionals, 5th ranked Rice in their CWS opener and finally 2nd ranked North Carolina.

If you are keeping score at home, that is #9, #5, #3 and #2 nationally ranked teams defeated by the unranked Bulldog squad.  Now they get a chance at #11 Georgia.

I am completely and utterly jealous of my brothers Kevin Fillebrown, RJ Pallari and Cookie Dominguez who, immediately after yesterday’s game, jumped in the car and set off for Omaha, Nebraska to attend the finals.

Make sure to catch the game wherever you are tonight and root for the Dogs…not the Dawgs.
