Just when I thought it couldn’t get any better…
It was a good weekend for sports.
- Tiger Woods Birdied the 18th at the US Open to force a Playoff with Rocco Mediate. Lucky for us, the playoffs at Majors are 18 Holes, not just one. Unlucky for me, I am at work and can’t watch. Hello ESPN.COM
- The Lakers made things interesting by winning last night in LA. They push the series to 2-3 against the Celtics and now head back to Boston. I really don’t care who wins, but I kinda hope it goes to game 7 just to make things interesting.
- Portugal lost yesterday, fortunately it was a meaningless game as they will be advancing in the Euro Cup. I hope they can make it all the way to the cup as coach Luis Scolari will not be there for the next World Cup. He did, however, sign a deal with English Club Chelsea, though, so look for his awesome coaching over there.
- And last but not least, the Fresno State Bulldogs SPANKED Rice this weekend. That’s right, whooped them real good. If you have been at Fresno State as long as I have you will recognize Rice as the former WAC team that dominated WAC Baseball for seemingly forever. Luckily, they left the conference 3 years ago and Fresno has won the WAC title all three years since. Now they can add a College World Series game to the tally. GO DOGS! They play against North Carolina tomorrow.
