Ryan and I were having a conversation once about the way nobody cares at concerts anymore. It gets to a point, such as was the situation at the Evaline/Dredg concert last month, where the crowd gets so boring that it makes the show boring. Nobody moves, nobody jumps, nobody even puts their hands up anymore.
One of the biggest things I hate now is when people record the concert with digital cameras.
- Its annoying and in my way.
- The sound on those videos is absolutely horrendous.
- Its distracting
At the Evaline concert, there was a girl in front of me that recorded about 75% of the set. My biggest problem was that, as she held her camera straight up, I found myself watching the screen on the camera instead of the band.
“There’s definitely a problem where people are so busy documenting the moment that they forget to just live in the moment.”
Next time you go to a concert, jump and have fun. The band will feel better if you do.
