More Like Dumblarity
Does anyone else hate the new Tumblarity feature on tumblr?
It just went from a fun place to share thoughts, pictures and experiences to a competition to have the highest ranking. This reminds me of the early days of Myspace where everyone was competing to get the most friends. I’m not saying I don’t want people to follow me, but I don’t want to start whoring out my blog to get a higher tumblarity rating.
Anyone else not like it when they see Digg requests at the end of posts? Well, I believe we are going to start seeing a lot more “Reblog Please” messages attached to posts now. Similar to the classic Myspace, “New Pics, Plz comment” trend.
Just do what you love people and share what you love. Don’t do it for the ratings.

P.S. Maybe I’m just bitter because of my low rating.
UPDATE(5/15/09): Today Tumblr announced that they have redone the Directory and would you believe my lack of surprise when the listings were based on none other than TUMBLARITY.
